DIY motion control part2

Construction has begun! Having done a few proof of concept exercises, I have embarked on making a pretty heavy duty pan and tilt camera head for our Canon 7D. Here’s the base platform showing the thrust bearings which provide the panning movement. The next stage will be to make a cradle for the tilt function. The unit will utilise two 1.4A stepper motors which should hopefully be beefy enough to do some pretty cool moves!
